George Barris Created Cars Of The Stars Many Were Built Others

George Barris gave himself; the name: "King of Customizers." His company "Barris Kustom City" later just went by "Barris Kustoms" Many the pictures are custom cars not created by Barris Kustoms. However, since George Barris owned these cars, he could rightly, used them to promote as his own, It's just means his company did not design them. So, for right now, I going to fill with custom cars for your entertainment. Enjoy. The Black Beauty and The Monkee Mobiles numbe r#1 and #2 were designed by Dean Jeffries, but Dick Dean helped him, and both cars were built in George Barris shop. The Cosmo Ray was designed and built by Darryl Starbird. The Munster Koach was designed by Tom Daniel after George Barris took his Attorney along and was paid. The car was built at Barris Kustoms, much of the work was done by Dick Dean who was George Barris main engineer. The Vox mobile was to be used for a movie, but they never had it in it.  It is the most original custom of all which last a year sold on eBay. The car was in Denver Colorado in a man's garage while the eBay auction was going on. It is the only custom that is completely original from the paint job to the wheels and tires. It is like it came out of a time capsule. Many of you think Beverly Hillbillies Hot Rod is a 1921 Oldsmobile it is not. The stock truck is, but the custom one is not. It is actually a 1926 Oldsmobile; George Barris, found in Arizona. The body looked like a 1926 done to the radiator grill. It did not have any headlights, so they added Cebie Rectangular headlights, custom grill, a brand-new engine out of a 442Oldsmobile from 1968.Velocity stacks, with wire baskets, in each velocity stack, cord type hot rod header pipes, The buckets where special made in fours, two for the cab, with roll bar behind it and two for the wooden bench, they used as a bed painted the same color as a Hot wheel track. It looked plastic, the bed did, but that was an illusion. The bed was very heavy. The back had round lights and there were two supporting bars, with each chrome roll bar. The seats had diamond yellow inserts. The sides of the seats were black, then the button outer areas were yellow. Would you believe the original Hot Rod Olds Truck, only sold for$6,900 in the nineties. The truck actually had a gold base coat of "House Of Color" Then it was painted Candy Fire Engine Red. If the car looked tangerine, that's because when you mixed gold and red, it comes out tangerine, even though orange and gold make tangerine. The gold act as a yellow, when mixed with red made an orange, but, since it was, gold, the truck, looked, tangerine. It is very simple if you know you color wheel. Cars of the Stars, Barris and Others the Red Fox Wrecker original name was the Turnpike Hauler. It was designed by Ed Newt, who designed for Ed "Big Daddy "Roth. Ed Newt also designed the "Playmate Mobile" 1955 Chevy Nomad with Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. The Invader is another custom not designed by "Barris Kustoms". The designer wanted a futuristic Model T Bucket, so he designed, this double engine 389 Pontiac GTO custom with four custom scoops, for each two four-barrel carburetors. In 1967 and 1968 the "Invader" took home "The Most Beautiful Roadster." The Grand National Car Show in Oakland.in 1999; and The Sacramento Autorama had about twenty former Grand National Winners there. "Invader" was one of them. The Cars of the Stars II will have more customs that Barris, and others built.
